Through the Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Margaret Mary Catholic School forms the minds and hearts of young disciples.

A Plan Takes Shape

St. Margaret Mary Catholic School with the help of our School Advisory Council engaged in a strategic planning process to strengthen our mission and guide our future growth. Through prayer, reflection, and collaboration among faculty, staff, families, and parish leadership, we identified key priorities that will shape our work in the coming years.

This strategic plan reflects our shared commitment to Catholic identity, academic excellence, safety, and strong partnerships with families. It provides a clear roadmap for how we will continue to grow while remaining faithful to our mission.

All work in this plan is guided by our mission and organized around four pillars.

 

Pillar One - Communication

We strengthen trust through clear, consistent, and unified communication between school, parish, families, and students.

Goals

  • Build a transparent and reliable communication system.
  • Strengthen teacher-family partnerships.
  • Address bullying with clarity, consistency, and care.
  • Support families through education and collaboration.

Strategic Actions

  • Streamline communication across Dojo, email, Facebook, and text.
  • Require Dojo enrollment for all families.
  • Establish clear expectations for teacher communication, including positive and corrective feedback.
  • Provide opportunities for students to respectfully share their perspectives.
  • Define bullying clearly in school policy and the student handbook.
  • Communicate reporting procedures and consequences.
  • Ensure prompt investigation and safe reporting options.
  • Offer parent workshops on communication, discipline, and student well-being.
  • Share ongoing parent education resources through newsletters and social media.

 

Pillar Two - Catholic Identity

We grow together as a faith-filled community rooted in prayer, service, and family involvement..

Goals

  • Celebrate feast days, holy days, and Catholic traditions with student-led and family-inclusive events.
  • Deepen faith formation for students, staff, and families. 
  • Strengthen worship and sacramental life. 
  • Increase parent involvement in faith life. 
  • Connect faith to daily living.

Strategic Actions

  • Continue Faith Families, priest involvement, First Friday Adoration, and youth participation in liturgy.
  • Expand faith-centered recognition such as Virtue Awards and saint-themed apparel.
  • Continue teacher faith formation through book studies and Catholic-centered learning.
  • Invite parents to student Adoration, liturgies, and incorporate retreat opportunities.
  • Provide stewardship and volunteer sign-ups at enrollment and throughout the year.
  • Expand Care & Share service opportunities. 
  • Highlight service in communications.
  • Use an annual Catholic theme with family connections.
  • Provide faith-at-home resources.

 

Pillar Three - Academics

We pursue academic excellence while forming resilient, optimistic, responsible, and confident learners..

Goals

  • Strengthen core academic foundations.
  • Support the whole child through visible learning practices.
  • Monitor growth through meaningful assessment.
  • Partner with families in learning.

Strategic Actions

  • Implement a new K–5 math curriculum.
  • Develop a K–5 reading MTSS plan.
  • Embed Learner Dispositions into daily instruction.
  • Use formative assessments to track growth in math and reading.
  • Monitor learner dispositions through observation and reflection.
  • Provide family resources and workshops to support learning at home.
  • Communicate academic progress regularly to families.

We provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students, families, and staff.

  • Maintain written maintenance checklists.

Family Engagement

  • Expand volunteer opportunities.
  • Offer trauma-informed parent training.
  • Partner with Smart Families to promote healthy technology use.
  • Review and strengthen the Latchkey program.

Staff Support
